The scales of the dragon fallen on the obsidian floor. Dragon scales are a unique feature of these mythical creatures. They are covered with scales that are as tough as steel and shimmer in the sunlight. The scales vary in color and size, and can be used as a weapon in times of need. The process of getting scales as tough as they can get takes about one year after being hatched. The scales are made of the same material as Limpets teeth, which contain a hard, iron-containing mineral called goethite, which forms in the animal as it grows. Some dragons have horns or spikes on their heads and running down the spine.
