Clouds are made up of water droplets and air, and the weight of the water depends on the density of the water. The weight of the cloud depends on how you define it: the weight of the water droplets or the weight of the water droplets plus the weight of the air. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the weight of an average cumulus cloud is about 1.1 million pounds or 500,000 kilograms. This is equivalent to the weight of approximately 183 elephants.
